The Mammals shown on this page were taken in various parts of the upper Midwest and Alaska.  The coyote, bison and prairie dog were all taken in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  The deer and pine marten were both taken in northern Minnesota.  The ground squirrel was taken in our backyard, while the fox was a few miles from our home.  The brown bear was taken during a wonderful trip to Alaska.  We were drawn in a lottery for a spot at the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary.  The state of Alaska only allows ten people in at a time for a four day photo opportunity.  We happened to be there at the peak of the salmon run and were lucky enough to have 53 brown bear feeding within site of our viewing pad.  What a great trip!
